The Explosiv Service SA (ESSA) is a joint venture between SSE, the leading and oldest Swiss explosives company and Gasser Felstechnik AG, an innovative Swiss company active in all fields of blasting works.

ESSA was formed in 2001 to fulfill the increasing customer demand in blasting services. Initially ESSA provided underground equipment and know-how for the newly introduced pumpable emulsion explosives used in major Swiss projects like NEAT (new railway link through the Alps) and motorway tunnels. ESSA’s well experienced staff is supporting our customers on many construction sites throughout the whole excavation period.

Since 2005 a so called pump truck is owned which is in use to distribute emulsion explosives and Haevy ANFO at the place of use e.g. quarries. Today ESSA offers a full technical service in blasting for tunneling, quarrying, surface works and rock blasting.
